I wouldn't fit tabs unless they were absolutely necessary. If fat boy is putting the boat out of trim, get him to move, it's only a rib, there's not far to walk.. If you're battling a beam sea, you won't want to be fiddling with trim buttons. If you're digging in a tab for any reason, your creating a load of drag. Yes, I owned a boat for several seasons with trim tabs. ;-)

If they are "necessary" to correct a boat that is badly balanced then really the balance of the boat should be corrected before fitting tabs. For me they are not about fixing a problem, just about giving more options for control when needed.

Its perfectly balanced without them. on a 30 ft gin palace on the cruise there is a need! Raptor is so perfectly balanced its a useless overkill. its one of the best sub 7m ribs ive had the pleasure of wavejumping.if a rib needs trimmers then u need to look at the design of the boat....sell them maximus and buy something usefull like a espacher heater to keep ya pinkies warm!!
I would imagine RC have tested thousands of big ribs and a very limited call for them if any! Sell sell but of course I and Ribcraft stand to be corrected.

It's all down to Personal Preference BUT,I've been on a Few Boats with Tabs and I DO like the extra control /options they give...Noticeably in a Head Sea when they help nail the Nose down,...also with some of the Long Cruises I do 100+nm.... The amount of fuel used I have (225ltr tank=nearly Quarter of a Tonne)...and consiquential shift in Weight ect, is noticeable and Tabs DO give you more control.
That, and the fact that I have managed to procure a (Hardly used) Hydraulic set at a very good Price means we'll suck it and See!
I will put my Honest evaluation on RN when I have given them a good try out
As to NEEDING them I probaley dont NEED!.. Ulmanns-Tilting Hydraulic Helm-Wing Backs-Fusion Ipod player-LED Nav-lights-Deck Lighting-Double A-Frame-Wear Patches-InConsul Lighting-ect ect ect...Nice to have though!

Well, when you get bored of the Ullmans, post them this way

What do you think of the tilting helm? I'm tempted to buy one myself.
