TransAgulhas 2005/6 - anyone else going?

RAT RACE MEDIA / TRANSAGULHAS 2005/6
Info no. 1

There is only 6 months left before the annual Rat Race Media TransAgulhas and we take this opportunity to invite you to join us for the 17th TransAgulhas Challenge.

2004/5 saw the first participation of jet skis (7 in total) and this year we are looking forward to many more of these fascinating machines. It was a trying time for the organizers before the 2004/5 TransAgulhas as we hit rock bottom 2003/4 with promises that were not kept and promoters not performing. It was hard to convince everyone that this time we would keep all our promises, but we did. With the help of Dewald Visser of Rat Race Media, our main sponsor, we had prime airtime on SuperSport and M-net and all participants received some fame on the TV, even if they were not in the top 3 positions. Fame at last!! Dewald has already told us that this year SuperSport has agreed to flight a 5 minute daily highlights package every day during this year’s TransAgulhas

We are anticipating many more entries this year and therefore we feel that our loyal supporters that entered last year should receive first choice. If you participated last year and you want to partake again this year, you are automatically accepted but still have to enter on time. Entries open with the sending out of this bulletin and entry forms are attached. We have to ask for a deposit of R250.00 from last year’s participants and R500.00 from new entrants before the 1st September 2005 to secure your entry. This deposit will be non-refundable. The entry fee has been increased with 10% and will be R2,420-00. This amount includes camping fees as well as cost for an ID sheet. If you are in possession of your own ID sheet, deduct R220 (provided you are first with the number in your possession), which will then bring the total to R2,200-00. Final payment must be made before the 1st November 2005 after which date a penalty of R300-00 will be enforced. Please bear in mind that a first come first serve basis will be followed should a cut-off number be agreed upon. Ground crew vehicles will be limited to two vehicles per team.

It is our aim to uphold the tradition of the TransAgulhas and start on the 28th December 2005 and finish on the 1st January 2006.

The following arrangements remain the same:

Media

Before the event, Rat Race Media will distribute a 16 page full colour Trans Agulhas newspaper of 30 000 to all the coastal towns prior to the event. Let us all help them in their efforts and co-operate with requests of information and availability for photo shoots. looks like it on

so i have 5 boats

5 engines

and it looks like 5 sponsers

and 5 road crews

all i need is 2 more drivers
and 2 more navigators

would anyone be intrested if they were asked to pay for themselves ie, flights and acomidation

this is only a suggestion as i may have previous ballistic customers who would want to go and they would get first chance.

please be aware its not for the un fit or people with any disabilaty

its 5 days back to back of hard raceing over 1000km and surf races throwen in as well .

thanks j
