RIBase
Over the years I've had both recovered, boat on trailer (6.4m boat +trailer about 7.5m in total) on the back of the recovery truck with me following. Car on truck with boat on truck hitch, never been a problem.

Hmmm I think this is very much recover company dependent/level of cover and what vehicles they have available in the area. I went for additional cover with Green Flag which covers the car and trailer. I have heard stories where people not having this level of cover had to leave the boat on the hard shoulder while their car gets taken to the garage to be fixed/or the people are taken to an area of safety and the owner has to arrange separate means of getting the boat/trailer recovered.

Check the small print

Best way to do it is with CCC

They have no restrictions on size, provided its a legal tow on your towing vehicle they will recover in the event of car or trailer breakdown

Here's the ill T & C's (Page 10 shows weights etc) with a screen shot also shown

If the trailer fails on a public road they will recover you to your destination might be worth the 90 RAC + 40 CCC membership
