Trailer Loan (for suitable fee) - to help you offset costs perhaps

Do you have a decent trailer capable of carrying a 6.8m RIB lying idle? I need a trailer for about 25 days from July 24 onwards to convey my RIB to northern Italy and back.

I would like to borrow a trailer for that period and would be delighted to pay a suitable loan fee. The trailer would be insured and used by a responsible experienced driver.

Don't think they do? Though that may have changed recently I guess. If London is home then Redhill would be your closest branch. The manager there is called Steve and he's a very nice chap.
You could try sticking a post in this bookface group though?:

Buy a trailer and sell it when you come back?

Surely if you rent one the deposit would be huge, like 1k plus

trouble is that sort of trailer is nearly £4000 new now, so you can understand why. Throw in the cost of a service on a twin axle trailer (and parts) could easily come to £3-400. Chuck into the mix, potential trailer theft, damage, wear and tear, confiscation (if naughty) etc and i start to understand why trailer companies have stopped hiring them!

I think indespension hire trailers but not boat trailers. Perhaps the answer is find someone who has there boat on a summer mooring agree a suitable sale price and buy back and then pay £1500 for example, for trailer and sell it back to owner after the trip for £1300 saves a load of hassle and keeps it clean for Insurance etc

Just need to find someone with a suitable trailer they are willing to sell, might be a dealer with one lying idle.

Used Trailers are usually quite easy to sell if in good nick so buying one to do the trip then selling afterwards isn't going to be a problem and you will likely get most of your money back when you sell on
You just need to be sure you buy a good one that is capable of a long trip

I wasn't implying they buy a new trailer, used one is way to go.

You may find someone who will rent you one but I suspect not, these are obviously expensive items and with all due respect, you might never see it again!

Summer is time to buy trailers, plenty about.

Blendworth Trailers near Portsmouth hire boat trailers. From their website it would be around $1000 for that length of time.

Please substitute $ for pounds as the pound symbol seems to have gone AWOL from my keyboard.

Trailer Hire UK | Portsmouth trailer hire, fridge trailer hire, freezer trailer hire, Brenderup boat trailers for hire Hampshire, refrigerated trailer hire, exhibition trailer hire, bike trailers for hire, Brenderup UK trailer sales, Portsmouth boat t

There is a triple axle Roller Coaster on Ebay for $3500. Would you lose more than a $1000 if you were to buy it, use it and sell it.

What a dilemma!

apologies, i was replying to you're comment on the deposit cost and the reason it is probably that high. Either way it is a conundrum for someone lending one. Cheers.
