Yup.

Not many options in UK:

1. Floatem (as per the ebay link)
2. Mersea Trailer
3. DIY

I prefer opton 2, as I have a Snipe trailer, made by Mersea, and theirs are cheaper and will deffo bolt straight on. I don't have time for the DIY option.

Ordering tomorrow for delivery end of week, fitting Sat AM and immediate trial !

:-)

What is the legality with towing with these on?

I thought I read it wasn't allowed so I made mine removable.

If that question is aimed at the picture of my old boat, it was custom made to measure.

I think the legality issue is based on max width of trailer allowed which is 2.55m as per https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car/c...d-width-limits.

So the issue would be around whether the docking poles are classed as part of the trailer or not.

I suspect as they are mounted to the trailer, they are considered to be part of it. However if pulled, I am sure you could blag it by getting your tools out and removing them instantly. Or letting tubes down and sliding poles in.

For me, my RIB towing will be principally 1/2 mile trips along a wide back road to and from storage / launch points; so I don't think I have anything to worry about. Cant see it being an issue on motorways.

i would say its down to trailer width i put drain pipe over mine to act as a roller with red & white reflective tape on spirally wrapped and they only sick out past the boat 2" never been pulled over but as said i can remove if needed by just one grub screw each side.

I will try to find the info but there is so much rubbish about towing out there it wouldn't surprise me either way.

It was not about the max width though, was something to do with if they are easily removed they should be off.

When you see the tackle hanging off farm machinery makes you wounder if there is any rule or are they exempt?
