+1

I use this method all the time and it works really well

This site is worth a look through, details injuries by prop and some technology inventions. Mostly US based.

That's us, thanks for the link. Yes, we are mostly U.S. based but do cover accidents and propeller safety news worldwide. We have a special focus on Australia where there have been many developments in recent years, plus we also try to keep a close eye on the UK with several recent events there.

This poster/site didn't get a very positive reception on THT

Propeller injuries, deaths and Prop guards - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum

They (THT) seemed to think PGIC, as a first post, was either trolling for sales or looking to build a legal case against a boat manufacturer who's boat was involved in a recent accident. Useful the have the information, and could be quite genuine, time will tell I suppose.

As usual on THT the discussion descended into the depths with little/no conclusion...

its a terrible tradegy. i feel gutted that a young girl died needlessly. but its no different from all those horrible road deaths due to people who cant be bothered getin a hands free mobile. people are dying every day cos they cant be bothered. in this case it may be due to not bothering with kill cord. its human nature. but you cant legislate against stupidty so i do not agree that we should have loads of new legislation or rules.

You must be mistaken - nobody ever comes on RIBnet to promote their business interests unless they join as a trade member

Do you have a stop button? It's quite easy to replace the stop switch with a kill lanyard switch.

Currently working near Padstow. It's thought that, the Wife was at the wheel with youngest on her lap turning figures of eight.
Apparently, they'd only owned the boat for two weeks.
