When I tried David last year when buying mine, he passed me onto Ms Bing at Fangscoo alarm co, as I only wanted a single unit. He assured me these were the genuine article and I had the newer TK102-2 model which does have some additional features over my older TK102 - inc alert for battery charging (or not) in the text message.

Standard delivery was by courier at $30 ! but they agreed to send by Hong Kong Post, tracked at $15. With HKP customs duty seems generally to be avoided unlike DHL or Fed Ex where it is automatic and they do like to add a nice handling fee

I ordered it with the hard wire charger but found that this blows if you leave it connected whilst charging the boat battery thus you need to disconnect it when charging and obviously the inbuilt battery will drain after 48 hrs or so. Once it does, you have to reset the on button/take the battery out/in when reconnecting to the power supply to reconnect to the network
I use a CTEK charger mounted in the console, permanently connected to the battery, and connect to the mains whenever I am not using the RIB. I replaced the hard wire unit with a standard cigar lighter phone charger ( changing the mini USB to the one from the Xenun charger as it isnt mini or micro usb ?) and now have no problems > I presume the phone charger has some voltage/surge protection circuitry ?)

1. The Xenun tracker in NOT waterproof. : I put mine in a normal small IP67 eclosure with the charger and unit
2. you'll need to make sure the tracker is securely mounted and that the usb is taped or similar in place or, at least, check it's still connected after you've been wave jumping : I packed the internal battery tight against the contacts and the back panel, as well as taping the usb connection.

All in all, a great piece of kit > I find that the 'speed' alert is more reliable than 'move' which can sometimes give false alarms with satellite lock or variance.
With speed set at 20 ( kph) once I tow off the drive or from the last set point, the alert is almost instantaneous. With move, it can be up to a mile before it alerts.

Oh - I use a Vodafone PAYGO sim and its fine. On line top ups and I have not had any issues with not making any voicecalls.

Lets give it 48 hours - then I think I will admit defeat if I dont hear back from anyone.
Still a great thread - with lots of useful contribution and information.
If it does go pear shaped I think everyone has enough information now
to get themselves a viable alternative.

How low can you set the speed alert without false alarms?

Is yours the version with the SD card slot and have you found any use for that? Not quite sure from reading up on them quite what they are for.

Yes, it has the SD card slot - it is something to do with storing GPRS position data when there is no GPRS signal ? I think it is if you have set up live tracking / logging >>> do not think it is something I would use even if I knew how to

From the 'manual'

5.21 SD card function
A mini SD card can be put in the tracker’s SD card slot. The GPRS data can be saved in
the SD card if GPRS is off. It will send data to the GPRS server again if GPRS is on.
5.21.1 Setup: Send SMS sdlog123456 1 to the tracker to activate the function of storing
data in SD card;
Cancel: Send SMS sdlog+password+0 to the tracker to deactivate the function of
storing data in SD card.
5.21.2 Setup: Send SMS readsd+password+space+1 to ask the tracker to send data in
the SD card to the GPRS server.

Cancel: Send SMS readsd+password+space+0 to ask the tracker to stop sending data
in the SD card to the server.
5.22 GPRS Setting
In order to use GPRS function, the user needs to set IP, Port and APN ( access point

I guess there's no advantage in spending the extra on a card for the slot then.

15kph is far better from my storage solution than 20kph-it'd have to move a couple of hundred yards before it could exceed 20kph.

The 15 is the trigger speed. You could always try 10

It will then acknowledge 'speed ok'
Then to unset

nospeed123456

If you dont unset it sends an alert every few minutes

Yes they do but I have never found it entirely succesful. Too many false alerts - it may be where I live but the accuracy is often 400 m out
With the speed set I have never had the issue.
It is nice to phone the tracker every now and then just to check all is functioning >>> and still where she should be

Ok... I had an email, from Xexun.

The price per unit would be US$95 plus shipping and any duty and VAT.
This is around UKP £61 plus shipping, duty and VAT which I calculate
will take the price to about £85 a unit?? plus the cost of P and P to forward to each individual.
I think peeps would be better off ordering individually and getting
them sent as samples....so the bulk buy makes no sense to me.

Hmmm. That's not going to help find the boat if it's pinched. A 400m radius in a built up area covers a lot of sheds.

I assume the 400m is just the alarm threshold. The message will still contain the lat & lon to give accurate location. If not you can still poll it.

Don't use the geo-fence myself, just ask the tracker for coordinates which are always very close.

Had some communication with the ebay seller above & he assures me that his units are genuine Xexun. However they don't come with the hardwire kit, this is available from other sellers on fleabay. Could someone enlighten me just as to what the hardwire kit consists of please?
