Over the last couple of weeks I'm not sure that I had any heat left.

Most modern touch screens use "capacitive touchscreen" which in short it means that for a glove to work with a touch screen it needs to complete a circuit with your finger. Next year I will make sure that I sew some conductive thread on the fingers of my gloves.

IIRC is it not the heat from the finger tip that activates the 'doins'[/QUOTE]

No they 'detect' capacitance not heat. So as willk says the right gloves will still work - essentially the manufacturer puts a patch of material on the glove finger tip that has a similar capacitance to people! Skiers, mountainbikers, hill walkers, etc all using Smarphone's more and more outdoors so there are an ever increasing range of gloves available.

I was not trying to be 'smart' as I am no tech-no but only posing a question, thus my phrasing of the sentence, But I bow to your Superior knowledge..............

Lots of places do gloves- more specifically designed for iPod, iPhone users. I picked up a pair dead cheap in debenhams. Wee patches on the finger tips, work great on the plotter.
