Tornado refurb

Thought I'd put a few pictures up of my little project. My other toy in the first picture! I'm trying to find a picture of its original state.

Put the engine on today. It's an 80 yam with carbs. Will try and add some more pics as I go.

This pic is out of an old thread on here. I've a sneaky suspicion that this is actually my boat. Tho when I bought it, it had been cut about a lot more and in my eyes pointless gadgets added.

Maybe not pointless. Tacky. A compass the size of a golf ball, a round hatch cover that doesn't have a hole in the console. It had 2 fuel tanks so probably about 200 liter capacity, I agree that's not pointless but I don't need that capacity.

That's a fair old transformation! Looks good. I would have an a frame but I do a lot of Mark laying for sailing so carry marks out the back.

that frame is the second one i made. the first one was stainless, but was never really happy with it due to it flexing. this one is aluminium, and is as solid as the rest of the boat. its only when you either rebuild, or fit out a boat yourself that it actually becomes 'your own'.

Did the back rest today. It's a bit tight sitting down but just right for standing. It's an adaptation from what was originally in the boat. Not ideal but will do the job.

This coming Tuesday is its first proper outing so will get some snaps. I'm also keen to see how fast she'll go!

What size Tornado is it and what engine are you running?

Ive just bought a 5.1 with 2 stroke 75. Not had much chance of a good test yet.
