Saw a late Tornado last year and it looked good, I never used the boat but first impressions were good.

Do you not fancy something with hypalon tubes?

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies, i think i'm going to talk to the XS dealer here in the Netherlands.

The Tornados are nice but as Doug Stormface said, the XS ribs has more deckspace. And if the XS ribs drive as well or better as the Tornado ribs i go for a XS rib and dont take any risk of buying (maybe) a bad chinese build tornado rib.

Are there people here who own a XS 600 or the bigger XS650??? Can they tell me their experience with the XS ribs?

I have owned a XS600 for 4 years now and have thrown a lot at it and it has taken it all, the extra space is really usefull and for its size I have not driven a more sure footed RIb, like Doug I have owned and driven most of the usual suspects but this is the first RIB I have owned that if I had to replace it tommorow I would buy another one of the same type and size. the service from Barnet Marine has also been excellent, one point that has not been made on this thread re links between XS and tornado is according to the Barnet Marine Web site

""XS is a consortium of former Tornado staff headed up by Laurence Lock of Barnet Marine, We must emphasise that the XS range were all designed from scratch but obviously the style and apperance of the craft reflect the pedigeee of all the staff. The exstensive XS factory is "up north" but at this time we are not opening it to the public. This young company has approached the Rib market with the experience of 20 years in the field but the mind set of constant development "

regards

Mark

My 2p worth.

If the build quality of a chinese RIB is anything like that of a chinese motorbike or scooter then I wouldn't touch it....
