I've always thought a cover over the console is a good idea. Makes it harder for people to see what's underneath and hopefully they'll pass to the next boat if they're opportunist thiefs.

4 weeks in the water should be fine with no antifoul.

I always leave flares etc onboard. Hopefully that's not the kind of thing that would get nicked. Not of much interest or commercial value to anyone other than another boaty, and hopefully they wouldn't stoop so low as to nick a fundamental item of safety gear. Lock your fuel away though!

I agree, flares are only ever really nicked by kids! 4 weeks in water should pressure wash fine, although it's the discolouration of the tubes that can be harder to get out - Hypalon makes a great "key" for weed growth!!!

Our Chewy reckons that some class of wax will protect hypalon against weed fouling - he'll be along in a minute to confirm the brand - if he isn't busy banning people

Aye up lad, any carnauba wax should do, it'll make cleaning the tubes even easier when you do lift it out. I've even painted the leg on my outboard with clear waxoyl to see if it stops growth!

Am just drawing up my hitlist now, have got to "G" and just thinking who I should start with.....
