Yes, totally agree, I've never been a fan of our too mount controls with no lock. :-(

Is there a reason why binnacle controls don't have a lock as it would be interesting to know why they don't....

Not sure fella. It doeas make maneuvering marginally easier. But not much and ain't worth it.
