Almost finished cleaning up today.

Got the engine painted, cleaned all the electrics and base tray. Looks a million times better than it did!

Replaced some of the bolts for clean new ones too.

I've also primed the pull start housing ready for some colour.

One thing I have noticed so far is the the tell tale pumps abit i regularly.

Brand new water pump is fitted fine. It's fine on tick over but once revved the flow decreases a lot?

Could this just be due to there not being enough pressure from the hose pipe

First day of testing today.

Went out with two mates in a zapcat and jetski.

Didn't all go to plan!!

Engine idle is alittle too low and has a fuelling problem. Engine runs lovely and smooth but doesn't rev high. Only got a top speed of 28mph.

I think it's the carbs as every now and then it worked fine. Also on my own with a lighter boat going head to wind it was much better but still not revving.

Will be testing the coils tomorrow to check it's not them.

The past week I managed to strip down the carbs.

Nothing major to report other than the mixtures being abit too rich. All fairly clean! Also raised the idle up alittle.

Fitted new ngk iridium plugs and already running smoother.

Starting to play around with engine height alittle now too. Bit of a cave man method but have made up some measured blocks of wood to sit the engine on.

Have made a few to raise them engine between 35-50mm. Click image for larger version

So yesterday was successful!

Engine ran without any faults! Didn't get a chance to play around with engine height but seemed pretty good as is now.

Reached a top speed of 43mph which is a fair pace for a standard engine and a worn propeller!

Couple more things to buy then I can begin to modify for some extra speed!

Long time since and update but getting some stalling issues still. Have ruled out fuel tank & line, and everything before the carbs.

Definitely fuel related not electrical.
