Thinking of swapping my delta

Currently own a 5.5m delta powered by a 115opti.
Seriously considering selling and getting something else, but i have no idea what ?

What would you choose and why ?

6-6.5m

What would my delta even be worth ?
Engine is 2006 with 300hours
Rollercoaster trailer with new brakes and bearings along with spares
Hydraulic steering
Under console 81l alloy tank that gives you 150 mile range at 34mph cruise
Not worked out the range at top speed which is 51mph via gps
Seating for 5
All new led lights, vhf, chartplotter ect

Help 🤦🤦

Surely the what to get...

... depends on why you want to swap? Sounds like you want bigger...but why?

Is the hull /tubes also a 2006?
Is it all in good nick?

There is a basic rule of depreciation on here is it..

Take the VAT off as soon as you leave the forecourt
The 20% year 1 and 10% each year after...

Don't know what it cost new... £25k?

So became £20k as you drove away with it
£16 k end of year 1..
£14.6k end of year 2...
£13.2k end of year 3...
...
£5k year 12...

But I may be being harsh

The honest answer is i honestly don’t know.
Fantastic boat but i find myself going on longer and longer trips.
200mile plus now .....

You don’t need to tell me about depreciation, i worked at a mercury dealership for 14 years ��

IMO, if you're moving up for comfort and range then you should try for 6.8-7+m. Running 200 mile trips already puts you "up there" and the bigger LOA is what makes the difference. Unless you're considering huge trips and have an unlimited budget, I'd suggest looking for a 6.8m boat with a decent four stroke motor, paired with good tank capacity. You can work on the rest of the boat later.

I'd say around 7k without seeing it.

We had a delta dash 5.5 with a Merc 90 4 stroke and honestly its probably the best sea boat under 7m

I think the only thing to replace it would be a bigger delta if sticking with an outboard.

Not many boats give you that delta solidity on the water

I really love the delta and i’m probably mental for thinking about swapping. i completely gutted it to bare deck and did a full re fit in the spring, everything brand new right down to battery terminals.
This was when i made the new bigger tank ect and fitted it out for long distance trips, safety boat duties and for teaching rya courses.

I find myself looking at the halmatic ribs and would probably go for an arctic 24 if anything, completely gut to bare hull and re fit it out again.

Just really value other people’s opinion’s despite being in the marine trade for way too long myself.

Do you really want to swap? Delta RIB is just dandy. 5.5m is great to launch and retrieve yourself. More power, maybe something under cover (give me a cuddly housing, windscreen wiper and a pot of tea on the gas any day). Give us a clue in terms of budget, otherwise I'll be throwing in Fabarge eggs!

Halmatic Pacific and Arctic... you're into the HGVs of RIBs. Cheaper owning a racehorse!

I have no budget as such, but i really do fancy a 22, converting it to outboard and run twin 150 opti’s or e tecs.
Size and weight doesn't matter to be fair, i very rarely go out on my own or without a group of us

But used all sorts of other boats from ribtec’s, humbers to 9.5m cobra’s

I've got absolutely no complaints with the ride in my 6.5m Coastline and it's been to virtually every island on the West coast of Scotland and over to Ireland a couple of times.

No inclination for anything bigger.

I've got a 7.4m inboard delta and it feels like a brick shithouse and pretty sure I'd give up before the boat did and not as much of a slug as I expected with only a 240 diesel. I'd imagine that 650 would be quite lively but very solid
Not driven a 5.5 so cant help with a comparison

Well if you are thinking of selling I've just sold my Quicksilver pilothouse 640 and want to go back to a RIB as I am usually on my own. I'm just down the road in Crewe.
