Oops, wondered why they looked different - any advance on what the Fulmar wil look like, unusually a bird not a river.

In fact Tenby are getting the first one anywhere - they have had to have their oat house and slip rebuilt to house it. They have had one on trials there for a while now - don't know if they have taken delivery of their new boat yet but it has been built!!!

Good piccies of the build process

Tamar 16-01 "Peter & Lesley Jane Nicholson
" the Slipway trials boat is currently in London ready for the boatshow, she shall be a relief lifeboat
Tamar 16-02 "Hadyn Miller" is currently complete and is sitting at the poole depot in storage, she will be going on station in late march 2006
Tamar 16-03 "The misses Robertson of Kintall" is currently near completion at DML and shall be going on station at Peterhead in Scotland (afloat)
Tamar 16-04 "Frank Anne Wilkinson" is still in construction at DML and shall enter the relief fleet
Longhope, Padstow, Cromer and Barrow are next in line (in that order)

The FCB2 is currently a un named class and is very likely to change in both looks and other ways before going on service, the prototype tamar (FSB2 as it was known) had no deck cut out and a far more round edged superstructure

as seen: http://www.tenbyrnli.co.uk/images/Tamar/tamar@speed.jpg
this then developed on 16-01 the first Production Tamar class to look like this: http://www.tenbyrnli.co.uk/images/Tamar/SelfRight4.jpg

which is a far nicer design and 100% more usable due to the lowered deck scallop.
