Am I right in saying that if you take out VAT in SAfrica @ 14% total delivered package will be GBP 9,839.00 plus VAT @ 17.5% and custom clerance expenses in the UK.

Yes I would presume so,Is there no import duty?.Usually it goes something like Price of boat = x + shipping=x = +import duty and clerance aprox X Maybe 2% = Total =+ vat 17.5% =Total Landed I think

Its a pain anyway

No there is not import duty for SAfrican imports in the UK. The supplier from SAfrica should fill in a form called GSP and the import is expempt from the duty of 2%.

By the way Sea Anchor for Euro 35.00 in Greece. Holding max capacity 7 tns max LOA 10 mtrs

1. Anchor: Excellent Quality. Actually is made in Italy (believe it or not ) and sells cheaper in Greece than in Italy as well.

2. Covers: Quality fair. These covers are not for rugged work. They do the job to cover a boat safely in the winter. They do not leak and if you are careful you can use them again and again.

3. Anchor: Remember?? A Danforth (PROPER DANFORTH with certificates etc weight lbs 25) is about Euro 110. This will hold a boat up to 8 tns weight and 10 mtrs LOA. However although I think is cheaper than the UK here the cost to transport it will be more than the item it self.

Pity you are not in Greece LOLOL
