Teleflex Steering for SR4

Little Joe requires a new steering system. Where's the place to source a light duty (upto 50hp) teleflex kit? 3.5m as it happens, now then, now then.

Don't do it, you miserable git! Your poor daughter will have arms like a ploughman!

Seriously, with your Wonda 50 on the back, that thing will be a handful with teleflex.

You reckon? So, what do you suggest, highdrawlick or tiller?

You've already ruled out Tiller for Milli on strength grounds...

Granted you'll never see a return on your investment (other than a warm fuzzy feeling) but you know that, er, highdrawlick is the answer. It's not like you're short of the 400 squid...

I didn't know if I was missing something here.
I have NFB steering and the helm isn't heavy, my cables are routed straight under the console then sweep round to the engine so not too many bends.
I would have thought Mollers kid would be able to use it fine.

I've had a 60hp clamshell and now the Yam 55hp on it, both were fine.

I have a SR4 with a 60HP merc on the back, one old crusty Teleflex and the original AVON steering wheel.. I must say that it tends to "pull" a bit to the left, and absolutely not something i would cross the channel with, but hydraulic´s?? Its just a dingy you know!! Just se it as a bit of work out.

(it is also reassuring to know that the old lady will come back for you, if you should suffer the misfortune of taking a dip)

You need no feedback steering.

The helm unit has a clutch in it which engages when you turn the wheel to operate the steering, When the wheel stops moving it disengages so you get "no feedback" through the steering or torque steer.

Ahh I see.. No torque steer.. Allthough I would think that such a system would stress the inner core exessively, and why not just use a self-locking worm gear for this?..

Isn't that what NFB is?

"Hokay.
Gonna hang the BF50 tomorrow, should I give it some offset or go central? If so, 25mm? Cheers.

On principle, I´d go with a slight offset like you mentioned, 10-20mm just to counter the twist.
Is the height OK, In my oppinion thats the most critical aspect of engine matching..
