From the Chairman and Secretary of ia Northern Ireland

Well done Fiona and friends, this is a marvellous effort.ia Northern Ireland thanks all concerned as we are recipients of sponsorship,
Living with an ileostomy or pouch will be made easier to some people who will be uplifted when they read Fiona's story.
Afgter an operation people feel sorry fior themselves this is not what Fiona did, she continued with her hobby or is it a religion.

I look forward to continually reading the postings and to seeing Fiona very soon.
Again well done girls, my bum would not have stuck it!!

Thank You Caravan and welcome to the Forum.

Many boaters have to make special arrangements so they can take part in their beloved hobby. (Fiona demonstrated with courage, energy and enthusiasm that boating and an ileostomy can go together brilliantly. Others have shared their stories in private.)

The real job is educating people around them, around all of us, around children with ileostomies or any other special arrangements. Ignorance is a huge barrier but one that can be overcome. We're all in the same boat at the end of the day.

I've had a great afternoon, reading all the supportive posts. I'm very impressed!

Kathleen and Paul, I suppose "my" RIBnet burgee is off across the Atlantic tomorrow, will I ever get to see it !

You never know Bogi!

Lets hope it's a good luck charm, as it's already seen two terrific ladies around Ireland in terrible conditions.

Then Kathleen and Fiona must sign the burgee on one side to pass on the luck to the others...................

From ia Northern Ireland

Met the two girls on Sunday, what remarkable people. Fiona is full of life and not a negative bone in her body even after what she has gone through medically.
Received some cheques, thank you, and was able to than Fiona Kathleen for highlighting our charity.
I also met with Alan Priddy who was about to embark on a trip North to Newfoundland. I do lead a boring life tootling around in a caravan with all those people following to see where I am going!!!

That now famous burgee will be signed as per Bogib's suggestion and will go to Mr. Whiteshoes as he made a generous offer to donate to the Ileostomy Association. (Fiona's branch or online UK main site?...please let us know by PM Brian ta).
Waterproof pen will be bought.
Fiona's visiting in Sept.
Burgee will be handed over in a ceremonious fashion to the new owner.

(However as Andy has been greatly disadvantaged in all this and since I took his burgee round Ireland without his actual permission; the jackeen Burgee will be passed along to him and we will buy a new one )

Here's a class act.

Mr. Whiteshoes duly sent generous donation to charity in N.I. then pmed both Andy & ourselves saying he'd done so. He then said it would be better if Fi and I kept the burgee as it would mean so much more to us.

Fiona loved that Brian and thanks for your generosity on behalf of the charity.
And thanks for the burgee. Incredibly generous.

Plenty big hearted people out there... (Remembering other big-hearted peeps in Donegal...I've sent stuff to & thanked the Lough Swilly Lifeboat Crew and the family who were so kind to us in Fahan...)
