Hi this is Fiona.
At last! In case you thought I was a figment of Kathleen's imagination (as good as it is) I'm real.
I would like to take this brief opportunity to thank you all for all your wonderful comments and support and for taking the time to think of us.
I will be ready and able to post more of the story and also more information about the charity in due course.
I will be over soon. Looking forward to meeting whoever I meet.
Take care

Fiona

Thanks for all charity support so far...brill .

Hi Fiona. Have a greenie from Liam
Here's a few more souvenir photos taken while waiting to see Paul Ferry Superstar Engineer and Master RIB Builder
1) Arranging the flags...that substantial tricolour was the only one I could find (a gift from Richard & Louise) and caused significant torque ...not to mention the boat listing to port
2) Titanic Moment...we was only messin Alan sorry...
3) Chats... r-l Liz (Fiona's brill Scots mum), Paulie, and sorry I've forgotten but maybe you're the guy that owned the Ferryman RIB that escorted us out of Lough Swilly???

Thanks for pms once again. Money has started to go towards the Charity.

People have also been sharing personal stories of how their lives have been affected by colon malfunction.

Very encouraging to know that some are RIBsters and continue to enjoy this sport.

Great stories of HOPE ...and the Charity above all appreciates awareness-raising.

Dear Missus & Fiona, apologies for being a latecomer on this one.
Heartfelt congratulations to you both. I always knew Missus was mad, this just proves it.

My story Part 1.

Hi it's Fiona.
When I was a little girl I used to climb trees. I knew that to get to the top was to achieve ultimate calm where there was no-one else. I tried to reach the furthest leaf and wondered had anyone touched it before. I also used to go out on a boat with my uncle. We'd go storming out of Ballydorn. I'd be sitting at the bow, wind in my face, freezing cold and singing at the top of my voice. It used to bring tears to my eyes.
Not sadness. Sheer joy and inner peace. With this trip I may not have touched water that nobody else has but I did get a chance to achieve a dream.
I'm not finished with dreaming. Because on the trip round Ireland I found a place in my heart that even I hadn't been to yet. However some things have guided me through my life in general and helped me in many different circumstances. I never dared to dream that I would get the chance to need them as much as I did round Ireland.
Even when I was most frightened it was OK because I felt after a lifetime of searching I was where I truly belonged at last.

Fiona

Hey Fi,

I was telling some kiddies in Portsmouth the story and I tried to draw the Jolly Sailor on the Board.
'Is that a sausage roll?' asked one of them helpfully...
'No. It's a boat.' I said...it wasn't that bad a drawing...I'm sure ()

Then I drew Ireland (that took a while )...
'What's that?' came another voice politely.
'That's Ireland' I said. (These kiddies are around 8 yrs old )
'Where's that?' the little girl asked.
'It's near England' I said.
'Oh England...' came the reply 'I been there once'

The story took a while after that. Just as well we're in the GPS generation !
But when I mentioned Fiona a few of them said : 'Is that Princess Fiona?' (They were all Shrek-heads)

'Yes', I said. 'But it's another Princess Fiona. Princess Fiona the Sailor. Now listen to the story...'

Missus
