Blug, that is a bit harsh, but I know how you feel. I do think that with all this safety gear and 'push here for help' equipment (and then put others life in danger), the heroism and danger in these ego trips has been greatly reduced. I do think however that this should serve as a lesson to anyone that in fact one day someone may not come running to help and get you out of the kack, and you could be a gonner.

There are much braver things being done around the world every second of the day, 99.9% never ever coming to notice. Look at the troops in Iraq and the special forces, that makes any of these commercial attention seeking jollies look like a walk in the park. I know, I have been there, seen it, done it, and got the T-shirt

Anyway, I think the point has been firmly made, so no more from me on the matter, live and let live.

Yeah and I'll second that, think your comments are un-founded, and you are quite clearly just out to upset a lot of people.

Sorry to hear the news but glad you're all safe. Congratulations on all the past achievements and the best of luck for the one's to come.
I'd just like to say that I hope that this incident will not dampen anyone's spirit for adventure but rather will serve to underline the need for preparation. Adventure is relative, a trip round the IOW could be as much of a challenge to a small boat as this was to 'Spiit', and the potential consequences the same.
Congratulations to MU for going outside their operational range again, this is not the first time that they've done it.
