Howe* The back supports will be fitted higher up so the won't be an issue for you ribs and alot of people to seem to prefer the option of having these.

codprawn* We certainly do not fit full harnesses on open ribs it is enclosed ribs we fit them on!

paul holder and IBWET* We are currently in the process of designing a slight more basic/cheaper system to retro fit to existing pods on ribs these should hopefull be finished in the next 4-6 weeks i will post info when nearly finished.

Thanks for all the replies i appreciate everyones opinions helps me make a seat that suits everyones requirements.

I have attached pictures showing our shock mitigations seats with the side support wings attached.

Also pictures of the Redbay 1050 Patrol Boat fitted with 4 of our seats being tested in the rough on Saturday morning.

For anyone who is seriously interested in our seating we are offering that if you fly up to either glasgow or glasgow prestwick airports (with a budget airline) we will pick you up at the airport take you our on our test boat at either troon or largs treat you to lunch then drop you back at the airport and if you buy 2 or more seats we will refund you flight cost.

Looks great - very well engineered.

One slight drawback possibly. The way the front is tilted upwards could be rather painfull for us males - when I used to do a lot of cycling I made sure my saddle was angled downwards slightly - crushed nuts are not good!!!

Women would probably love it though..........

You would be surprised we have tried changing the angle of the front of the seat and that position seems to be the most comfortable for both male and female passengers.

We were carrying out testing at the weekend off the south most point of Arran, i have attached the link for the video on YouTube.

The seat was set up perfectly for my weight and height as you will see by the movement of the suspension system. This is the benefit of our system that it can be adjusted simply while on the boat to suit all heights and weights.

Should have mentioned in previous post you will see we had accelerometers attached to the back of the seat and the boat floor i will post the results when we have overlayed the graphs etc later this week.

no it is another system we are working on which will retro fit onto existing pods in peoples boats and the seat is only a bare frame with foam at the moment hence the water proof cover.

It will be released soon with video footage of it aswell just needs a bit more work first.

But I can assure you the seat is 100% our own design if you compare a picture side by side with an Ullman the seat is different in many ways (width, height, angle etc etc) and far more comfortable but i will leave that others to comment on!

Also the suspension system is completely different from anything anyone has produced, to my knowledge anyway.

We have a simular system. It is only hidden by our polyester cover.

no i have not seen your system apart from the pictures you have on your website, i was talking more about our side movement.

I am sure we will bump into each other at a trade show some time i will make sure and come and say hello. There is plenty of business out there for us all to sell plenty of seats

Scotseats, product looks fantastic! If you can manage to keep some under seat storage with your retrofit design it would be fantastic.! From one scot to another, Mon the boys! If we can Injection Mould any parts for you guys give us a shout on www.stornowayplastics.com We make all our own tooling. Payment could be a couple of seats for my own Rib

Thanks for the positive comments robbie much appreciated.

We have used some injection moulded parts for other seating products we make so anything else in the future i will give you a shout. If you are ever down in our neck of the woods feel free to pop in and have a look at the seats or if you give me a bit of notice i will orgainse and take you out on our test boat.

We now have a new version of our shock mitigation seat with a bucket style seat pictures attached.

We have distributors now in Norway, Netherlands, France, Germany and Australia and all response to seats from customers has been excellent so far.
