Summer Boat Storage, Solent Area
I have spoken with a few people about this before but i dont see the point in having a boat if its not being used!
Currently the boat is parked at the house about 25 miles from the water. By the time ive finished work i have lost the enthusiam to drive home, hitch the boat up and get back to the water. not to mention its almost dark then!
I want to find somewhere to keep Zippy reasonably close to the water so i can make use of these summer evenings. Ideally around the Southampton area as i work in Eastleigh but Portsmouth is also possible.
I dont have an Auto Bilge pump so a little worried about leaving it in the water as there may be times when i cant get down for a few weeks. do you think this would be a problem?
This is a reasonable short term thing, from now through to September ish.
Anyone got any thoughts, suggestions, indication of costs would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Howard.

If you leave it in Portsmouth, I'll be able to keep an eye on it for you
Try KB-Boatpark (expensive but good), Eastney Cruising Association, Haslar Marina...

You'd have to make sure the engine was properly exercised, of course

Agree with Jim.
All good Howard but Royal Clarence does a better deal than Haslar. We found it excellent there last year. Means close proximity to fuel and out in the Solent in minutes (keeping to the speed limit of course QHM ).

If you do keep it at Clarence Zippy, I can keep an eye on the bilge situation..

Thanks Guys,
i am sending some e mails out tonight as i really need to get out some more. seems such a waste on the nice evenings.
Clarance is well up on the list but the only draw back is its a long way from the office. may not be a major problem tho,...
On a different note, apparently theres another public slip near marchwood that has just been done up?? i am over there next week sea trialing a military landing craft so will see what its like.
