strange metal tank in hull?

just been washing my avon searider 5.4 when i washed inside the hull through the back drain hole and noticed with my hand a metal box its shapped to the hull and is much longer than my arm. as the searider got a built in fuel tank if so where would the fill holl and fuel pipes be plumed into, would be great if was a tank and could get useing again. thanks for your very bury ribbing time, andy

its longer than i can feel and its stuck to the under side of the flooring so still letting it flood with water .and shaped in a tapered like fashion looks like its been in from day one at factory, looked all over boat but cannot find any holes or places that have been patched up to cover it

dont think so as water can allready fill up the hull then when up on plane the water rushes out, i will have to trim engine up and put some lights up her then see if i can get some photos as its very baffling to me
