Stolen Recovered Outboards

Hi all, wanted to pick your collective brains regarding stolen recovered kit.......

I was recently offered a stolen (with keys) recovered XC90 as a replacement for my Jeep......was tempted as it was a nice clean low mileage one which hadn't any apparent damage as a result of theft (except removal of trim to try and find a Tracker I guess) not a problem to me regarding resale etc as I tend to use my 4x4's for a number of years /miles, by which time they have lost most of their value anyway. As much as i liked the volvo it isn't the right car for me /the job........will probably run the Jeep for another year and change the car for a 4 door (baby seat becoming a pain).

However, got me thinking about stolen recovered boats and in particular outboards...

Sadly, there often seem to be outboards getting stolen....

My question is; do they come up for sale when recovered /if recovered post pay out by ins company and if so, does anyone know where they turn up for sale? Unlike cars I guess that outboards probably don't often get used by the thieves so there would be fewer issues with abuse etc?

Any guidance appreciated.

my very first outboard many years ago was a stolen recoverd an old seabee ,,there is an auction house in leeds that at times do or used to do police stolen recovered items think every few weeks ,boats /outboards do turn up from time to time as does diving equipment but most stuff is bikes / power tools /small plant equipment/ mainly stuff with no sierial numbers on or untracable stuff ,

You won't find a lot-Boatwrecks (the most comprehensive site there) hasn't been updated for at least a year.
