Stolen 2005 Yamaha 50hp efi North Wales

Just been informed by the owners of the campsite where our rib is kept that the engine has been stolen from our rib.

Apparently it was stolen between the 12th March and 22nd March, another four stroke outboard was also taken.

They even took the time to unbolt the throttle controls, can't really comment any further at the moment until I go down and have a look at it.

Brian

No it wasn't insured and after reading on here about all the get out clauses it might not have been covered.

Just hoping theres only minimal damage to the boat.

When I was registering my boat at windermere today, I was in the lake wardens office and they had letters on the counter advising people of thefts around the lakes...... Too many scum bags around not willing to work for the things they want
Hope your boats ok Brian

Just an update to this thread, there is no damage to my rib but I cannot believe how difficult it is to find a good replacement engine.
It looks like I'll have to cut my loses and sell the Zodiac Pro9 and look for another rib package.

I had my honda 50 fourstoke stolen of a brig 450 6weeks ago and was insured through towergate mardon, they were fantastic with my claim and have allready settled, the boat package is now up for sale with madog boats, I now dont feel safe owning a boat with an outboard now so have bought a boat with an inboard!
