stern drive on small rib

Has anyone ever tried installing a stern drive in a smaller rib, after all the reading i have been doing on this site its one of the more interesting ideas i have not seen.

what sort of size do you mean? they make 5.4 seariders with a stern drive i think

You could get small RIB's with 2 stroke inboards and a jet drive, can't remember who did them though?
Turbodiesel maybe able to help on the stern drive in a SR5.4?

i have seen the sea rider 5.4 with a stern drive, just wondered if there is anything smaller.
I'm surprised no one has attempted it with the likes of the zodiac futara with its aluminum floor with the adjustable rail system, you could mount a stern drive on that and support the engine off the other side of the transom and the first section of the aluminum floor and its rail section.

It's down to weight and balance. You could have a smaller boat but you'd have to mount the engine midships

It is a SIB but I think the idea was to use the floor panel closest to the transom as a mount.
That's how I read it.

yes the inside of the transom and the first section of the floor is exactly where i was going this would still allow flexibility.
Im just thinking out load

Isn't the Solent 6m able to be fitted with a stern drive?
Sure I read it in the brochure some where..........

I saw a Ribcraft 5.5 or thereabouts wot had a stern drive as a factory test bed. Didn't work out - it looked like it would have been very tail heavy.
