Mine visually looks okay, I bet what's happened is that I've hung on to it whist traversing a big wave or rough conditions, coupled with my Pasty/Cake eating hugging figure testing steering wheel design to the limit and beyond

I have my eye's on something that appeals and will let you know the outcome later.

Yep I run one of these wheels on the Whispermax and the RC

Both are spongy rather that the hard plastic

This is what i want but at 175 squids ..VETUS KS45 Steering Wheel type KS feature stainless steel rims with a layer of semi-hard PU-foam which has an integral skin. Consequently no more cold hands with these soft-feel wheels. Spokes and cap are stainless steel. These steering wheels are absolutely resistant against all weather conditions.

The one I have now is a Vetus but it wasn't 175 worth. When I fitted it, it affected my compass. Very strange for plastic and stainless steel!
