RIVA

If you could do me a better deal on the seats I will take them but I cannot afford the 1175 for them.

Thanks

Neil

Can I make a suggestion?

RIVA - we understand that Neil didn't buy the boat from you and therefore you may feel (quite rightly) that you do not hold responsibility for the seats. However as the UK importer you have other responsibilities.

Neil - you bought the boat with the stains assuming that they were a surface stain - bad move.

However for both of you, this is not about the money, it is the principal.

I am guessing that Neil used all his hard earned cash to buy a DREAM.

This is a good boat and will give years of service (she says hopefully), but it is so disappointing when buying something if it doesn't meet our expectations. But this is even more so when this is a dream (an expensive one at that).

Could the both of you meet up and discuss this over a pint and come to a compromise where neither looses face and the final result is the boat is perfect and Jason has gone and restored our faith in British business and gone beyond the extra mile (which will be remembered).

Although no arguments over who buys the pint!

This doesn't have to be a battle.

Hi RIVA

If you felt that I was slagging you off - I apologise, I thought I was being objective. You do, as you say have a very good reputation and so do Ballistic. I just felt that this thread - as an outsider - was deteriorating into a slanging match - which is very easy on the internet to blat out a response to a comment. It is easy to misunderstand how a response was meant or implied.

I just hoped that perhaps if you guys could get together over a pint it might be easier to discuss this rather than a tennis back and forth.

And, hopefully, at the end of the discussion a resolution for both parties would be found.

Sarah
