St Malo area trip

I am going to St Malo area from Poole later this year and wondered if anyone knew of any harbours or marinas in that area they could recomend other than St Malo itself. Heard Dinard is nice but any little known stopping places would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Simon,

Our web site has a few links for the area (St Malo, Dinan and Paimpol) - look in the "destinations" section. I've only been into St Malo by RIB... don't remember any marina facilities at Dinard, but a trip up the River Rance to Dinan would be worthwhile. Great area for a cruise, and a visit to the French Channel islands (Les Isles Chausey) is a must.

Don't forget to re-fuel at Guernsey or Jersey for petrol at 36p per litre! (assuming youtake the Ribtec)

ya on the way back you should take advantage of our cheap fuel (43p at mo) caus its going up by the week. St malo if you go you can lock on to the main marina and you will be right by the main town. dinard is good but limited going up the rance is brill been many times, if you are following the gulf of st malo north to south there are 4/5 good stops one quite one called delleit another Cartrette, portbail antother quite but very nice town then realy the last one is granville this is quite large, when you get there paimpol is also verynice depening how far you want to go there is plenty of marinas to go to east of st malo. hope this is some help.

if you want more details just ask.

Nick
