Thanks for your posts. I think I will try the trim tabs and 15p prop, as I need a back up anyway. Losing the battery and fuel are not options, as I fish a long way from shore and need the range and power for gizmos.

My SR 4.7 worked well with a Suzuki DT65 and a SS 11 1/8 x 14 prop. However loading the boat with people and diving gear made it struggle... still possible but not a joyride...

Last week i repowered to a E-Tec 90 hp after 4-5 years of considerations...

So far it works like a dream, and it looks very charming as well ;-)
I have not yet tried it fully loaded, but based on the feelings of my first trip i can't imagine i will ever feel underpowered again.
