SR 4 Engine question

One for the SR brigade, Does an SR4 (unmodified Transom) require a standard or long shaft?

I am looking for a Rib to put a mariner 40 LS on.

Cheers

Not 100% but I think it's a longshaft.

My 5.4 has a XL shaft (25") transom. Measure yours from the bottom on the keel (below the hole) vertically to the top of the transom.
25" = XLS
20" = LS
approximately.

Yes, this is unfortunately true.

Normally done to accommodate an ex-RNLI Mariner 40.

Sr4 is a longshaft.

Sr5.4 with a cutout is also a longshaft, unless it's been rigged for twin engines from new at which point it'll take an XL shaft (Avon don't put the cutout in on twin engined boats)
