Splendid winter boating!

I went down to Jersey today to pick up my lad, it was glorious - flat calm and bright sun.

The ripples in the photo are from me moving about on the boat!

Cheers Martin, It was freezing here on The Solent. Rain /Sleep came in, 3 hrs on the water with all thermals, jackets etc and also gecko helmets still left a chill,

The Little Russel looked like a mill pond this morning, cold dense air and flat calm seas = perfect speed testing weather... just a shame my boat is sat on a trailer out of action!

Lovely looking day . Its been very flat here over the weekend. Each day looking at the sea thinking 'if only' . Unfortunately I was sorting out the bilge pump wiring & adding hand holds to the rear seat as the boat is still 50 feet from the water on blocks.

Not long now - 26th Feb & its back in. I cant wait ! I shall then be trying to get Avocet & 250kts on board to repay thier generosity ......( and anyone else if they fancy a lunch somewhere ?)

Pete

To smooth it out you just need a little oil on the surface to break the surface tension a little. I gather hydraulic oil is the best

Will do Steve - looks like 6th or 7th March will be good for me - tides etc. If either day works for you stick something in upcoming cruises & see if the usual suspects can be tempted out to somewhere.........

Did Ashlett Creek with David last year - a possible depending on tides ?

Or a trip to Poole somewhere as an 'out of Solent' trip for a change ( though not far for David!)

Very good.

It looks, fingers crossed, like it was just a split O ring.
