As of now: being just about midnight - 12 hours, 46 days.

Tsunami, the time is going by fast now.

now G, don't expect the earth when you get to Cardiff, just a little piece of Heaven

Very interesting. Isn't Portishead run by Crest Nicholson? Penarth Marina is as well, if I am correct in thinking this.

I will keep the other thread updated, as most info is on this, but could you let me know about your travel plans, just so we have an idea of how many boats will be coming to Cardiff for the send-off. (could you stick with the other thread re this - pls)

Great to hear there are three more Ribs joining us.
BTW: SOC and supporting boats will be heading for the 12:30 Barrage lock out on 31st March

13 m tide!!!

Hey folks, I've only got a little boat.

I plan on bringing my SIB down (as stated earlier) but I need to launch fairly close to the 'seeing off point'. Can I launch my SIB in the marina where SoC is lying? Do we need to 'register' the fact that we are coming? If so where? (so many questions)

Seeing as I am already the champion thread starter I want to claim the prize for furthest travelled to the 'SoC Send Off'. In order to get my SIB to Cardiff, I have to take a long weekend and drive up to my house in Scotland to get the boat (1,000 miles return trip from Birmingham) then down to Cardiff (214 miles return trip from Birmingham). This is a total of about 1,214 miles! Any one beat that?

Can't beat the road trip Keith........

but if the weather is good enough for us to come by sea, Cyanide will be coming from Torquay, round Lands End and up the Bristol Channel which has got to be 200miles+ !!

Nadia Lehmann is coordinating the day's events in Cardiff. Please let her know if you would like to come (or even if you're just thinking about it) so that she can make sure that there is space for everyone. Either email nadia@spirit-of-cardiff.com or call 07811 553925
You'll have no problem launching in the marina. Just blow your boat up on the pontoon and pop it in.

Judging by the mileage you intend to clock up that weekend have you considered saving the petrol money and just buying another boat?

John

Hi John

Fortunately my Mondeo estate is a diesel and does about 55 mpg on a run. I'll bet that Alan Priddy wishes that SoC returned that sort of fuel consumption!

Just blow your boat up on the pontoon and pop it in.

Yes, that's the beauty of a SIB in the boot.......

Right then, I'll be clocking 1,214 miles by road, Alan will be doing 200+ in Cyanide.....any other takers for furthest travelled?

Regards

Keith (up for it) Hart

travel

If I it the lottery or Nadia comes up with a airline ticket for me...well that would be across the Atlantic, then a train ride from Gatwick to Cardiff. If not I'll see the Lads in Wilmington...
