Hi nitrox, i only live 5mins from BH marine, they have been going for yrs ,i know simon & bill ,i,v been going up there for a few yrs now buying parts of them , they also given me some parts for free ,so not all bad as some think, i will ring them tomorrow & see what they say ,i do think they will do somthing about it ,as they have sold a lot of seapro boats this yr & don,t think they would want to loose 30yrs good rep ,just like to thank you all for the good advice

Sort of. Unfortunately my Avon was out of warranty so i spent over £1000 (plus some barter) having it repaired, then sold it on. Although the repair was of a very good standard, sadly i`d lost faith in the hull.

As biffer said earlier on, it needs quite a large area grinding out and then strengthening before repairing the gel coat.

Bunked trailer should stop it happening again but imho any rib hull should be well up to being trailered on rollers.

With the best will in the world ,the guy is I'm sure totally honest, he didn't make it, he only sold it, but because of that its now his problem...................so go for him .He has far more goodwill/pull with the manufacturer than you will ever have,you only bought one,he boat loads of them.

Good news, up to bill highams marines ,taken old boat in today to be replaced with a brand new boat ,he,s going to move everything over to the new boat free of charge & will be ready next week,the new boats are from a different company tiger marines egypt & not from china, still from across the water, but if the rib is good quality i,ll be happy i,v seen one of the ribs & they look a lot better quality than the one i had,the company,s been going for about 16yrs so finger crossed should be ok, thanks for all your advice

Yes, i know some people on here think he,s expensive ,but i,d rather pay a bit more & know that if something went wrong with the goods, he would put it right or replace it, like he as done with us without a fight.

When you are in the position that we were in its always the uncertainty what the outcome might be with a problem with a dealer, but luckily for us the outcome couldn't have been better. I am now getting a 5 mtr euro rib and also ordered a new tohatsu 3.5 engine as an auxiliary to be fitted on it . The hull seems to be a lot more solid than the one being replaced and the tubes are made in Germany but still pvc . Many thanks for all the comments and advice given on this forum and also a big thanks to BH Marine for the their quick and excellent response.

This is the new replacement rib from BH marine,s, no charge for any of the work they did to move all the stuff from the damaged rib to the new one,thats what i call good service

biffer are all the ribeye boats showing the exact same problems.if this is the case i will be speaking with anne marie at ribeye, like i say at the price these boats are selling for its unacceptable build quality.

the ribeye's i've done all had stress crack's, more than just wear and tear, i had a talk with a person and he said that they have changed where they are layed up, and the earlier one's were suspect, now this is gossip and i always take this stuff on face value, my thinking behind cheaper or dearer boats is you get what you pay for in most cases, you can't build something really cheap without sacrificing something, and it won't be there profit margin
