Speed display prob.

My yamaha gauge is not displaying any speed info, started going flaky last weekend displaying 5 knots when I was doing 30 on the gps. Today it's given up completely. Anyone experienced this or know where I should start to look for fault, engine or speedo ?

Speed Display prob

Hi, Had exactly the same problem with my Yamaha 115 last year. It would read OK sometimes and then suddenly misread completely. It turned out to be that the very small hole for the Pitot tube in the front of the leg was blocked with seaweed. Just needed cleaning out with a suitable piece of wire etc.

I would second the small hole is probably blocked and can be cleaned normally very easily or just a blast from an air hose gun
