We considered that. They are just going to come down more and more in price now that the replacements are out. For engine instruments with a little chart directly in front of the driver it would be perfect, accompanied by a proper 7012 as the main nav (also come down hugely in price thanks to replacement)

Thanks Geoff.

I wasn't sure what size I'd need and whether the shaft would be long enough to clear the hull. Is the 6hp enough to move the boat against a bit of breeze?

Just to avoid confusion GeoffW and i jointly own the same boat! So in response to your question about speed with the aux we get about 4.5 knots out of it, so its fine for short distances assuming the tide not too fruity.
