Solent Yesterday - XSR48

Anyone else out yesterday see this thing flying around ?

Met it as it came through Hurst as I went to Yarmouth & then seemed to spend the rest of the afternoon off Lyminton etc ?

Are they tubes at the stern to git it more stablity - if I get one can I call it a RIB ? Can anyone buy me one please ? Very fast bit of kit !

PS great day yesterday in Yarmouth, hot sunny ( deck to hot to walk on !) - stayed overnight - then it chucked it down !

I was out yesterday but didn't see this one. You're right, it was lovely weather - at 8am it looked awful, but within a few hours it was perfect....

Anyone out today I wonder? I wanted to head out but the forecast put me off.

Yes, I saw the XSR48. It was blasting past Cowes, West to East at about 1830. It seemed to be sporting a sort of DPM paint job........

This was about the same time as the QM2 went past Osborne Bay. (at about 16 knots!)

Aye,

Saw her blasting around the Western Solent on all three days of the bh weekend. It did do a pretty close pass of Calshot Spit that made me wince but apart from that it was flying around.

We got dusted off Hamstead Ledge on the Sunday.
