Hythe

What about Hythe Marine?

- Free to launch
- Great Concrete slip with room for two Trailers side by side
- Accesible at all times except about an hour either side of low tide.
- Chandlery & Shop
- Petrol at Marina
- You can tie up to load passengers at the pontoon just outside the marina lock.
- Carparking is 6 all day for car and trailer
- Plenty of large car parking spaces with enough room for car with trailer attached.

Definately gets my vote

now that is a good slip, ave a look on boatlaunch and see if it is on or if so updated, the couple i looked at on the link were way out of date and as john made the effort so should we, i live 500yds from a slip but you have to travel for ever so it would be good to know in advance that somebody hadn't dug it up and put flowerbeds on it

I actually had that happen to me-bought a boat from a canal near Birmingham and was told there was a slip at Alvechurch a few miles along. Got there and it had been a rockery for 5 years....

The public slip at Hamble is free, if a little tight to get to with a really big trailer.
Free parking on road about a 4 min walk away, or use the foreshore carpark which is reasonably cheap.

The Camber is my fav slip at the moment, partly because its nice and steep, and also because I have access to secure free car and trailer parking in Old portsmouth.

I used to use the slip at the Ferryboat inn on Hayling Island. See pic below taken by Robin several years ago now.
It can get a bit busy during the summer, and can have a bad cross tide running but if timed right is quite nice.

Not me on that occasion. A oldish lady driving a jap 4x4 happened to be driving round by the rising sun manged to persuade her to tow us out.
