Solent Ribbers meet Isle of Wight

Would any Rib netters be interested in a Solent meet on the Island with perhaps a BBQ and Beer .
Come over Saturday afternon BBQ evening and cruise before going home Sunday .

B and B 's or camping on the website should be able to get a cheaper overnight deal at the marina or you could berth at town quay .

could make it the weekend after Cowes week and perhaps our friends from the Channel Islands could make it over.

The Lifeboat may put on the BBQ and not charge too much or we could just eat there.

Just a thought.
Tim

Yup bring them all be good to see your motley crew again.

Big Mick can bring the ski and I want another go at 95mph.
Re the burgers I love em can never have enough of a good thing.

On a serious note though it would be good to have a gathering as we are having the hottest summer since 2003 so why not take advantage of it.

We'll be up for it if it moves to another weekend.

We're returning from Dartmouth on the 15th, and will be cleaning down tents etc on the 16th.

Ok the marina will give a discounted price of £265 per metre if 10 ribs or more
works out at about the same price as town quay only safer.

Back end of August 15th 16th or 22nd and 23rd
Cheers Tim

I'd hate to know what the price was before the discount

Sound like a nice weekend. I fancy coming and will be staying in BB or Holel.

blooody .
2.65 per metre not too bad I thought it may be cheaper at town quay or down the folly pontoon .

Hi Andy
East Cowes Marina has good facilities pub and so on, to take advantage of the £2.65 per metre we need 10 boats it may be that others want cheaper moorings on the town quay or up the folly .

The dicount given was 10% bearing in mind its August and on a Saturday the marina would make a u berth available to you all rather than rent it to a Yacht rally so not a bad deal in my opinion.

We can either eat at the pub which does a bbq outside anyway, or have use of the marquee and organise our own, I am open to suggestions.
Also hoping the Channel Island Floptilla will be with us for the reunion and meeting of new faces.

Tim

Sounds like a plan to me. Never visited East Cowes with my boat, so it'll be one more place I can tick off my list

What is the accomodation like over that part of Cowes, or is it a case of getting the chain ferry to the other side?

If you have a look on my website under the accommodation link you will see loads to choose from either camping or hotels .If staying in West Cowes the chain ferry is free to foot passengers the boy's from Solent Rescue have a deal at the Duke of York in Cowes so maybe liase with them for cheaper digs.

Cheers
Tim

This sounds great, I would be able to do weekend of the 15th and 16th and would be happy to camp or B&B.

Would anybody be happy to buddy up with me for the crossing as slightly less experienced than others!!

Thanks all,

Luke
