Solent in August - where to stay??

Folks

After a great weeks rib holiday last September we're using this lovely weather period to plan the next.

Out thought is to head East and enjoy the Solent, but not to head up as far as our old stomping ground of Gosport, staying somewhere New Forest end - accommodation wise anyhow!

There seems to be a wide range of marinas, slipways and moorings on the good old internet so can some one please recommend a good venue to leave the rib afloat for the week with a holiday park (static van / chalet etc) some where not too far away?

The dates do cross over into Cowes week so aware I'll need to book something sooner rather than later.

Ta ,muchly

Mercury marina on the Hamble has a caravan park with chalets next door. Not the new forest though.

This looked great but the £1700 price tag put me off - thank you though

I've stored and launched from Calshot on a couple of occasions when visiting the Solent and stayed in a cheap and cheerful B&B a couple of miles away called Welcome To Walcot Guest House : Walcot Guest House

Mind the resident Husky doesn't lick you to death...

Lymington is great, berthons or yacht haven for the rib, lots of B&B's, pubs, restaurants, in fact the relatively "quaint" high street all within walking distance of the marinas.
