That's because they can't get back in because it's frozen

I love Windermere in the winter. On a clear day with flat water the place is empty it's amazing to see the contrast between winter and summer.

Most definitely Winter cruising! As I'm typically sailing during the Summer, the RIB is only really in the water December to April, and I make sure to take it out any time I'm down in Poole, whether a hop to Solent/Weymouth, etc., or just a ride around Poole Harbour and up to Wareham. As others have said, you tend to have any places to yourself, and you get some wonderful quiet, crisp days to go boating.

Having just done Poole -> Penzance -> Poole during the Summer, think a trip for me to Scilly is probably unlikely over Winter, but will definitely be around the central south coast on various weekends.

No dolphins, but this was me back in January around Poole and Swanage, having just reinstalled the engine and drive.

I'd love to. I was a bit stuck last year because all the trailers sank in the mud in storage

We own the Solent, I like that.

Winter is the time for men and their RIBs and for boys to stay at home.
My most memorable cruises have all been in the Winter.

Nothing like flicking the ice off the sponsons before launching.
