good clean up Gibbo - based on that do you want to come & clean my boat !

Classic boat that should come up really well with a bit of TLC - 'Interesting' job to cover up the hull drain !

I know some people dont use the flooding hull, and i probably wont but i want to block it off with something tidier that i can still use if required.

Offending fibreglass now removed.

Try it with the flooding hull open before you make up your mind-you may decide you like the extra stability at rest.

Incidentally, it's the same model as mine was-originally had a bow dodger and side by side seating.

Mine was like that too. Mine had a very wide double jockey console in it. Was to wide to grip with your knee's. Who ever had removed the bow dodger had left a nice line of glue as a reminder.

I thought it was by this picture

There's a lip going around the bow where it looks like someone cut the bow dodger off? Plus I think the two raise sections have way down the deck are to hold the seats?

But I could be really wrong, Nos will know better. Doesn't stop it being a cracking little boat

What does this do then?

Just in front of the transom is a circular plate that accesses the flooding hull.

What is the reason for this?

I hope i am not asking an obvious one.

In the middle of the deck in front of the transom? Looks like the drain plug has been blocked off. This drained water off the deck and into the flooding hull. But if your going to cap the hull off again I'd leave it and buy a bilge pump.

He's right. It's worth making sure any bolt holes for the original seats are sealed-there's wood in those raised bits.

Sea Trial

Well finally got her on the water and despite really choppy conditions had some great but hairy exhilarating fun.

I had the engine hood professionally resprayed and it looks good.

The console is a Shakespeare and is on the large side but wanted something taller than the standard and also houses the battery and 53 litre fuel tank and room spare for dry storage.

Managed to get 32.7 knots but as i said the sea was not too good today.

Just got to get an A frame and sort out the little bits and she will be great.

Thanks to Chewy, DHD and everyone for all the advice and to Nos who recommended the SR4.... a top choice.
