snaps on my Zodiac Pro's helm and seat back

I just noticed this morning that both the front of the fiberglass helm and the rear of the fiberglass seat in my new (to me) Zodiac Pro have snaps on them. I am presuming that these were put in at the factory.

The obvious answer is that these snaps are used for snapping a canvas cover. But I already have a cover that came with the boat, and that doesn't have snaps. Plus, the placement of these snaps does't really make sense for a cover.

Anyone out there know what these snaps are for?

I would guess (and this is a WAG - wild-assed guess) that it's for some sort of snap on pocket things. Seem to remember that, but I don't recall if it was Zodiac where I saw them.

I tried to attach a picture, but instead of letting me upload one from my own hard drive, this site asked for a URL. I don't have a URL.

There are two snaps located two inches from the floor, on either side of the bow-side of the helm. And two more, 2 inches above the floor on the seat mount near the transom.

Pic attached. Mine is a 14.5 foot Zodiac Pro from 2009.

Upload it to your "albums" on rib.net, then link to it?

Sounds like a cushion snaps to me.

Not so sure of that. What cushion gets snapped 2 inches off the floor of the front of the helm and a full foot from the front seat?

Thanks for the tip on how to upload photos. here's one.\::

That boat does not appear to be a factory rigged Zodiac product.

The console and seat look aftermarket.

The dealer probably bought it as a "bare" hull, then added their own stuff?

I'm not so sure i agree with that. if you do a google photo search on a Zodiac pro, every one of the boats at my length has the same helm and seat as my boat.

For a good description of the use of power trim try either Peter Whites new book, Powerboating or The Outboard Motor Manual by Keith Henderson.

It might be a good idea to get an overall camper cover to keep the rays of the tubes (unless you are lucky enough to have a nice big garage to keep her in!)
You want to attach pictures rather than link to them. On the website you click the paperclip icon which opens a new window, where you can browse to the file. You then have to tell it to upload the files (I can't remember the button name but it's reasonably intuitive).

That should be easier than uploading to gallery and then linking.

You're right! I checked in to it. I did some research. Turns out it is an obsolete drop-in console that Zodiac sells... pn Z61006 / N02001.

I talked to a guy. He said there should be two fasteners off the left side of the console about 1/3 of the way up...those fasteners hold the shelf in for the middle compartment. They have white caps over them that kinda look like snaps. Is that what you're talking about?
