They are great for what we do and 95% of pleasure boaters. They are no substitute for full suspension seats in offshore conditions. In a high speed craft going into a big sea they only have 40mm of travel so could in theory bottom out. But in saying that when I first tested they I deliberately launched myself off the biggest waves I could find at a good speed and they were fine, however Im of an average weight. We have a maximum weight limit for our customers of 115KG which all our seats are rated up to

Yes, a Redbay RIB called Thalassa had this fitted. I spoke to the skipper a couple of years back and he reported that it was excellent, if pricey:

I will try to ask SKYDEX to estimate cost for jockey's and rear seat:

(not sure if picture is clear). We will spend every day on boat with kids so any protection is valuable for me.

IIRC it was startlingly expensive. Maybe consider the cheapie version I showed above?
