Looks very smart, is it inboard diesel or petrol? also is that a loo built into the consul, looks a neat idea as the size of the consul does not look overly big either.

Thanks it is petrol 4.3L Mercruiser 220hp just like the power

Yes it has a loo and a 2 berth cubby in the console! I'm also getting a table up front that converts to a sun lounger & a cover hood that encloses the back!

So I presume then you have a reasonable ammount of under deck space, good idea. Get the best of both worlds then. Expect it goes well too with that engine inboard. Quite planted in the water.

What's the box on the swim up platform for?

The cabin or coffin goes all the way from the console to the front of the boat, as to the box I think it will be perfect for the kids bucket & spades! Keep all the sand out of my new boat!

Least it beats sleeping on an open deck. Plus having a decent bit of space with the Tonneau up is a great idea.

Having had the 5.75 Viper for many years I do not want to go to some thing that will handle like a pig!

Budget around £20K so will have to be second hand!Yes & it's new with warranties!!

Congratulations on your new purchase Nick. Sad that Rosie has to go to a new home, I must admit to have been tempted to but her. I can't belive that she hasn't sold though, must have been months now. Good luck with EBay though.

Thanks, well I got a bargain because of the time of year! So I can't expect to get top money for mine I suppose.

SPoke to guy about Ballistic. He is keeping it for me. sounds like a genuine nice Guy. I will do the deal with him when he has time to meet and greet.
He is up to his hide in work before Xmas. I am in no rush in this climate buddy!

Thats a nice boat you have. Its brillo to be able to leave all gear in Cabin when you leave boat etc.
I have had boats for years and was very tempted to get Cabin Boat.
Yours looks sweet. Good for kids with facilities such as Loo (keeps madame happy too).

I am looking forward to having this one. I had a Marlin 16 last year but some friends really wanted it and I was indifferent about keeping it. They were going to buy piece of Junk so I sold them my one for my cost instead. Most Happy. Was going to buy 5.5 Mtr Ballistic which is enough for my needs of "Harbour Hopping" rather than Island hopping. But I can imagine a return leg when the tide turns against breeze and maybe upsetting wife....

So size does count when it comes to women!!!!!!

ANyway when summer comes around we spend it in Mobile home (trailer trash) so its water sports all day long inc dingy sailing and general cavorting in the Briny until 19.30 and then G+T`s followed by wine followed by bed followed by Solphadine... You would think I would learn lesson next day, but it is holidays.

and like you the need for something that was more family orientated was the reason for buying a Sealine 240 Senator. 4 berths, loo, fridge and stove was quite appealing when we viewed her a fortnight ago in Brixham. After the 3rd trip to Brixham in a fortnight enough was enough and a she needed to come home to Pompey. Didn't fancy the 180 mile tow so I enlisted Stu for a short delivery trip last Wednesday. Weather forecast gave a 24 hour weather window so off we went, well nearly except we missed the first train from Southampton, which was fortunate as it was de-railed by a landside

a later slower train finally got us down to the wilds of Devon.

Wed morning dawned with a few fluffy clouds as Brixham Harbour staff posted a F5-6 forecast. Nah couldn't be, we borrowed there internet connection and found a more agreeable F4 forecast, but a mid channel bouy was also giving a 2.5m swell from the SW, hmm

We agreed to go and have a look so set off to Torquay to top up the petrol. Smooth trip across to Torquay in the shelter of the headland, but trouble started in Torquay when we met a bloke called Turpin. Dick Turpin to be precise who charged us £1.30 per litre for petrol

No wonder tubes are so expensive to make with living costs like that down there.

10 miles out from Torquay heading for Portland Bill the swell started to roll in. Thankfully the helm was light and with a Volvo V8 producing 275 hp she was quick to change course as the sea turned to F5-6 and produced some challenging driving conditions. 12 knots was calm but a bit slow, 18 - 20 knots pleasant but she really did want to go over 25 knots surfing down the long swells which in a strange boat in a very empty Lyme Bay was more than enough. Stu took over half way and we crept round Portland Bill within cricket ball range of the light house. The race further out to sea was very impressive and we definately didn't want to go anywhere near that

Up the side of Portland Bill Stu opened up the throttles and managed 27 knots for 3500 revs, turns out the engine should top out at 4600 but that can wait for another day when we have had chance to scrub the bottom and remove the barnacles from the stern drive.

After lunch in Portland harbour the leg to the needles was calmer at F4 including the ledges off St albans. 5pm saw us racing into Yarmouth for petrol at a more reaonable price of £1.01 per litre. A big thank you to the staff in Yarmouth as they stayed open for us to get fuel after the 5pm closing time

6pm saw us finally entering Pompey harbour after a slow trip in the darkness of the Solent and a suprising amount of traffic for a wet Wednesday evening.

A big thank you to Stu for the assistance on the trip, without another steady pair of hands to take the wheel its doubtful the trip would have taken place, oh and to Viv for buying her
