Naughty boys, you lot!! Just tell the truth - it is 'necessary' as a mounting point for nav lights, VHF aerial, and any other 'safety' items eg flares box, throwing line or whatever.

Or, better still, tell her it looks cool!

I knew Missus J was away, but I clean forgot about you Louise. P.C. hat back on lads, before we give too many tactics away.

Hi Louise - said I would register eventually!

Paul also feels he needs an A frame funnily enough. I, on the other hand, REALLY need a new leather handbag, shoes and a holiday in Greece. Negotiation here is the key girls!

Hi Sue

Wow - only one post and you've already earned a credibility point!!

Nice to have another woman on board - these boys need keeping in check from time to time.

Bilgie - I'm on your side! Just need to make sure you boys remain respectable to your better halves.

You've got another point Sue, just for making that rather more-ish birthday cake for Monday night, nice to meet you all!
