Securing fuel cans down

Being the school holidays and having an 11 yr old hanging around I've been pottering about the last couple of days.

I got thinking about some way of securing my extra fuel Barrus tanks down so that they dont slide about.

I dug out some WBP ply, some inch by inch timber and knocked up a frame for the tanks to sit on. A quick coating of flowcoat and a couple of tie down eyes and the job was done. The frame sits comfortably between the console and anchor locker and doesn't move at all.

I also fitted a couple of caps on the fuel connectors to stop water gathering in them.

Yes please Jeff.

I filled my internal tank with five gallons of fuel the other day and I'm getting a very strong smell of petrol from within the console, I'm worried that the tank may have a split/leak, if that's the case I'm going to run it off remote tanks.

I checked and double checked all vents and pipes from it and they all seem ok.

No link I'm afraid Jim, just a lot of searching on here and seeing what other people do, it really isnt rocket science.

They look a heck of a lot better than they did when they left my gaff Al!

Cheers chief.

New connectors, o rings, pickup pipes and paint. I'm impressed with the paint, weapon grade toughness.
