Will I see it in an afternoon do you think, or should I take the whole day out of the office?

REDBAY 11m at SEAWORK.

We have just bought down by sea an 11m Redbay Stormforce RIB. Left yesturday morning from Cushendall, Northern Ireland. Well worth a look if your going to Seawork! The boys from Redbay are going to be there every day, I will be over there from Thursday afternoon getting ready to take it back as soon as the show finishes.

Some good struf at the show was V impressed by the MST boats there 9 mtr Cabin rib is finished to an incredibly high standard.

And they have a 4.5/ 5 metre inside the hall which is possibly the best rib I've ever seen. Even Johhny Fuller would have been impressed by it's engineering

Then we found a 5.4 Searider with an inboard diesel, Which was a cracking boat. We had a go on it but the demo driver didn't extend the opportunity for me to get behind the wheel. But it was nice to meet Turbo diesel anyway

Spent a lot of money on non slip deck stuff for Billy

and nearly bought a mini ROV.

Sea-Works

Had a really good day today. For me the show had a much better feeling than RIBEX. Took out the marketing team from Raymarine on the RIBCRAFT first thing (the girls liked the ullman seats) I had time and people made time to speak on the stands, (Jeff Gecko, Dave Marine AV, Steph RIB Shop, and Gerry from Liquid Engineering.) Lots of people came to chat / Chew the fat on the pontoon and spirits seemed to be high. Perhaps I'm just in a good mood as I won the Magnum of Tattinger Champagne and got my photo taken with a very pretty girl called Posy.
Anyway gang will be there tomorrow, if any ribnetters are around for a coffee come and grab me.
PS. Check out the new Bladerun Site at www.Bladerun.com , Click on the video section for the first of ten 5 minute vids. We are taking 30 boats from Ramsgate to Amsterdam (fleet includes a waterskier) We are providing three support RIBs. Should be entertaining...
Cheers

Greg

Very good day for us to.
Some very useful contacts.

I met Greg but not sure he knew it was me!
Might have been to busy chatting to Posy

Even saw David of Boat Care doing the rounds.

Hope today is as good as yesterday.

All the best

I agree. Better than ribex. Met Jon who was showing off an amzing bit of kit that did everything including showing where other people with an MMSI were. Now if only I can work out how to use DSC - it is a long time since the VHF course....

Had a blast in the big Delta 11.5m. Very impressive indeed. Up to full speed and hang a starboard - wheeeee!

And then, immdiately after, a blast in Andre's 9m Parker. Again, very impressive. Lovely diesal roar as it comes up on the plane. Thanks to both.

It feels very different (less vulnerable, less connected with the real world) inside a wheel house.

I am now working on how to design a proper double bed without claustrophibia (spelling ) into a 9+m rib but have an outside helm, and very large diesel tanks for long distance cruising.

Went this afternoon, enjoyed it.

Saw Mr Kennett for a quick chat, and had a long chat with Andre.

Was also offered a ride out on the 9M Parker with the twin Diesels which was great. Just need to start saving now for the cabin version.

Was very nice to see you Andre, and thanks again for the ride.

Confused the hell out of the poor sales girl on 'our' stand as we'd not met at work.

Tried a couple of times to have a chat with Greg from 2012 Marine, but he was always busy, obviously worth his while going to the show.

Nasher.

Nasher,

Sorry all over the shop today, but you are right it has been really worth my while going and have picked up some quality charter work, great exposure. and met some more really nice people, I think there is something in the water at Southampton that is missing in Cowes.....Even got left a Suzuki door mat! (I think it looks great at home but Jury still out with the wife)) Great to meet John Kennett and he took the RIB for a spin, I'm around all day again tomorrow so please collar me, alternatively just give me a bell on the mobi 07919488550 to get a locstat.
Cheers

Greg

Hi. Glad the show went well, I'll give you a call soon, when you've recovered from the show.
Vampire looks great by the way, especially with the Ullmans.

I was in our marketing department today, Fiona was telling me how much she enjoyed the ride on Monday (on your RIB ) as it was so comfy.

Just got back fro the show, glad I made it in the end. Really useful range of exhibitors both from commercial and personal viewpoint.

Andre, thanks for the outing - a superb boat, aided by Rob (I think)'s excellent handling. Really good seating as well, an area that lets down a lot of boats.

And good to put a face to Mr. Brooks's name as well

Definately will visit again...
