Seat Cleaning 'stuff' ?

Streaker came home yesterday night for a spruce up after a season outside (and the Fusion/speaker fitting which I'll take some pics of in due course) .

It was looking a bit jaded ( by my standard anyway)

So the tubes had the 3m treatment, the console etc a bit of a wax and polish but the seats are starting to look a bit well grey and not white as they used to be. I know the whole white with blue piping is not everyones cup of tea but I'd like to find something that gets them back to white.

Any ideas or suggestions or experiance ?

How much!!!! Ouch. Search eBay for melamine cleaning pads and you can buy 1000 from overseas for £17 delivered. That's just about 2p each. I use around 10 per boat per clean. They are amazing with any of the usual cleaning products out here. They even remove the staining on the hulls. Only downside is they break up so easy it's crazy.

They sell them at the boat jumbles 3 for £5! And I do mean SELL them too

depending on what's caused the discolouration, vinegar can be pretty good for getting off 'living' dirt, like mould and other such stains.

I've also used one of these to much success: 3M

(takes a while... spray and walk away...)

blimey! best i can see is 60 pcs for a tenner delivered.

Are they ok for use on GRP? i see it says not on gloss surface or cars!

i have a lot of white seats which are now off white so fancy getting me some of these to try!

Sorry I lied about the 3M stuff.

It's actually this I use, and it's pretty good:

Mary Kate Inflatable Boats, Tubes & Towables Cleaner - Marine Cleaners - CRC New Zealand

Turned my green, grey and dull tubes and seats into something slightly whiter and brighter.

Not sure if you can get it in your neck of the woods thou...

They are great. I use them all the time. They are non abrasive and have not damaged any boats I've had in. Best to do a test area first though!

I've used their Vinyl Soft Top Cleaner (also available as 'Boat Vinyl Cleaner' in their marine range - same stuff) on my seats in the past and also on the tubes. Excellent results on both. Not the cheapest but it goes a long way and is easy to use.
