Seastart and similar

Does anyone have any experience of Seastart or equivalent organisations and are they worth the £130 or so per annum?

Sea Start are a professionally run organisation based on The Hamble River. I have first hand experience of them and thoroughly recommend them.

The question is what is the price for peace of mind? I for one would not set out without my membership.

Hi

I am slightly embarrassed to say that I have used SeaStart. They towed be home when the impeller failed in the water pump and yes I do get it regularly service the impeller was only a few months old ! So I would say they are worth it , very helpful.

Sea Start

I had a problem with batteries in a 60' yacht over the weekend and called Sea Start to see if it was possible to join there and then. They took credit card details and were out within 30 minutes. They fixed the charging problem, jump started the engine start battery and replaced an impellor in our gen set that I had foolishly denied of cooling water.
I ant reconmend them enough!
